Howdy! I’m so glad you stopped by BDD to check things out. I’m Lilly, and I’m a former librarian turned stay-at-home Mama. I live to cook, decorate, shop, and sip on a solid cocktail. My blog is meant to be a glimpse into my life: cooking my way through teething toddlers and laundry piles.

My style of cooking is meant to be easy to follow, delicious, and do-able for all skill levels. I really enjoy cooking for others and seeing their faces light up when they love something I’ve made. I like to make recipes that are easy for a weeknight, can be frozen, can be made ahead, but most importantly ones that have the WOW factor. Cooking is a gift from the heart.

My decorating is far from professional, but I try to share the purchases I’ve made that help make our house a home. The same goes for my fashion + shopping – I’m all about comfort but lookin’ as good as possible with limited sleep and about 20 minutes top to get ready.

I love to read books and recommend them only if I enjoyed reading them myself. The librarian in me is a tough critic. My favorite genre is historical fiction, but I’ve tried branching out and expanding my horizons as much as I can. My favorite book to read on the daily though would have to be a good cookbook. I’m a sucker.

Let me explain my blog’s funky name:
Batali – Mario Batali. The one and only amazing chef whose personality and food inspire me to try new things and not take myself too seriously.
Dior – Christian Dior. I’m absolutely not a fashion icon in any way. I’m a trainwreck in that department usually. But I do love shopping, decorating, and looking at pretty things.
Dewey – As in the Dewey Decimal System. Before I had our son, I was a librarian, and although we don’t use good ole Dewey anymore the way we used to (sorry, bro), I love a good book. I enjoy sharing what I’m reading and hearing what others think about it.
